I am well. I read your comments on Barack Obama and agree with all you have expressed, but there is a portion that I find true in my heart and often ask when will this nation be truly free of racism, discrimination, segregation, etc. Yes, Hispanics have been a race sort of like a middle man who is only stuck in the middle of two dominant races: Caucasian and Black Americans.

"Racism, sexism, patriarchy, elitism----all of these show America at its worst. And all these things have been salient over the past twelve months of this Presidential election. It has been really ugly. But most illuminating, it shows we may not be as far past prejudice, inequality, discrimination, and segregation as we would like to believe."

I have found many of times that I have been looked down as a Puerto Rican, but I have met awesome individuals from both sides...like Ericka, Manda, Shirley, you, and others. Believe it or not Lindsay had her good too...strangely.

I would like to share two poems that I have written in response to my truth in my eyes. Let me know if it is okay. It is great to know that you are moving up and ahead. I hope you well in all your endeavors...be good, live healthy, and be true to self.

Love Saby J.JMrs. Jimenezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03838279413672658946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6132167394468045110.post-63179073979006421882008-08-27T11:20:00.000-04:002008-08-27T11:20:00.000-04:00I like what you have to say. I hope that our president and our politicians can one day fulfill this vision you lay out.marramikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14139591200170877116noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6132167394468045110.post-86896569593100013152008-08-27T10:22:00.000-04:002008-08-27T10:22:00.000-04:00Well said Michael. In fact, many have said Biden will be more of the one to connect w/the blue collar community because of his background. We'll see!

Michelle Obama was great, as was Hillary last night! And the Obama daughters are precious. I'd love for them to live the next four years at the White House!

Keep up the good work!

-Gina VergelGina Vergelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15053234842759996895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6132167394468045110.post-4335509378158315102008-08-26T22:34:00.000-04:002008-08-26T22:34:00.000-04:00Thank you for the post Mike, madd insightful.
